The only thing I did differently was I actually logged in to prior to downloading and running the program on laptop/pc. This drove me crazy as I was stumped why I was able to do this without a problem a few months back and now all of a sudden it was not working. At this point, I had a sigh of relief as I was able to download the new books I wanted to. Once signed in it automatically detects your device and takes you to the home screen where it shows you all the books you've installed already and which new books you want to install (it shows the list in the main page). Then once the leapfrog connect was downloaded (takes a few minutes) and it asks you to either sign up there or log in to the account (I logged it since I created an account earlier). I did all this while the leapstart was connected to the pc/laptop. What did work however was I went to to first log in to the account (or create one) and after I logged in I navigated to Support > Download Leapfrog Connect from their main website ( ) to download the program. I tried changing the cables and even different laptops but no luck. So actually I was able to connect to the leapfrog leapstart fine before and this time no matter how many times I tried after connecting it to the PC the program did not recognize the device and would not connect.
